Typer Hero is a free browser game you play by typing. It has no accounts, no sign-up and no database of players. This page explains the small amount of data the game touches, what Google Analytics and Google ads do on the site, and the choices you have.

What the game itself uses

• Your callsign. The name you type on the start screen is sent to the game server and shown to other players next to your ship. Your browser also remembers it (localStorage) so you do not have to type it again. Clearing this site's data in your browser forgets it.
• A session token. A random token kept in your browser for the current tab (sessionStorage) lets you reconnect to your ship after a dropped connection or a page reload. It identifies the connection, not you, and is discarded when the tab closes.
• Gameplay. The words you type, your position, score, level and typing speed are processed in memory on the game server so the game can run. They are visible to other players in the same arena as part of the game, for example on the leaderboard, and are not kept once you leave.
• Server logs. The game is hosted on Google Cloud. Like any web server it records technical details of requests, such as IP address, browser type and time. These logs are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.

Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how the game is played. It sets cookies such as _ga and records page views and a few game events: when a ship launches, when it levels up, and the score at the end of a run. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, and Google's own privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.

Advertising

The site shows ads through Google AdSense, including full-screen ads between runs. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.

• You can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
• How Google uses data from sites that use its services is explained at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

If you are in a region where consent is required, such as the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you are asked before advertising cookies are set, and you can change your choice at any time.

What we do not do

• We do not ask for or store your real name, email address or any account details.
• We do not sell personal information.
• The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Who processes data

Google LLC provides the hosting (Google Cloud), analytics (Google Analytics) and advertising (Google AdSense) described above, under its own privacy policy. No other third party receives data from this site.

Your choices

• Clear this site's cookies and storage in your browser at any time. The game will simply ask for a callsign again.
• Use the analytics and advertising opt-outs linked above.
• Ad blockers do not break the game.
